In January 1954 he joined the Evening Telegraph as a photographer. He loved this job and was promoted to chief photographer Mostly based in their Wellingborough Office. (We have a letter sent to the editor of the newspaper from the late Princess Diana’s Grandfather, saying the photographs Terry took of Diana’s Parents wedding were some of the best he had seen, also one from Diana’s maternal grandmother similarly praising the photographs)

Terry retired in 1995. Terry was a real gentleman he loved life, he experienced everything he could, he travelled the world, He was very happily married to Marie and they were devoted to each other. He was a very interesting man easy to talk to and listen to. He quietly did things for the local community, he spent many years supporting and enjoying running his programme weekly at Kettering General Hospital radio playing requests for patients. He enjoyed attending his church in Rushden. He also enjoyed music, when younger he was a DJ and loved doing this. He was a proficient sailor and loved sailing at the Middle Nene Sailing club in Thrapston. He very much enjoyed playing bowls and was a president of the Wellingborough bowls club

Terry, now sadly having lost his wife, and suffering with dementia, no longer remembers the wonderful life he has enjoyed or the exciting people he has met. This website is dedicated to Terry, his photographs and the memory of a truly great local photographer. We hope that you enjoy looking through this website and do let us know if you have your own memories of Terry.
